Introduction
The term sociology was coined in the 19th century to describe the scientific study of society. Sociology is the scientific study of human society that focuses on society, human social behavior, patterns of social relationships, social interaction, and aspects of culture associated with everyday life.
The word sociology derives part of its name from the Latin word socius meaning 'companion' or 'fellowship'. The suffix -logy meaning 'the study of' comes from that of the Greek word lógos, meaning 'word' or 'knowledge'.
The word itself is accredited to one of the founding fathers called "Auguste Comte" (1798–1857) a French philosopher who coined the word SOCIOLOGY not the ENDEAVOR, in 1838 as a new way of looking at society.
Definition Of Sociology, According To The Founding Fathers
Auguste Comte (1798 –1857), defined Sociology as the fact and program of science of the society that is comparable to the science of nature, in terms of it's rigor, methods, it's systematic interconnectedness and its freedom from emotion and ethical validation.
Emile Durkheim (1858 – 1917), defined Sociology as the social facts and social conventions that are external of individuals and can influence his behaviors.

Max Weber (1864–1920), defined Sociology as the interpretative understanding of social actions in order to arrive at a casual understanding of its cause and effects.
Herbert Spencer (1820–1903), defined Sociology as the order among those structural and functional changes which society pass through, that is homogeneity and heterogeneity, simplicity and complicity.
Abdel Rahman Ibn Khaldun (1332–1406), defined Sociology as ilm Al–umran, meaning the science of society and called the discipline Umraniat.
Karl Max (1818–1883), defined Sociology as the social relation grounded in the material world.
Conclusion
Sociology, is seen as the systematic or scientific study of every day human behavior, interaction in relation to his environment or society. It focuses on studying humans and their society.
